Do People Actually Travel for FREE, does this even exist in the current Economy? Pkjulesworld Investigates!

Lots of people esp. online claim they travel the world for free living the life of Riley, spending days in Paradise and getting their tan on all year round! The question is if it was so easy why isn’t everyone doing it?
Surely who doesn’t want to while away the hours on a beach sipping Pina coladas? Who wouldn’t wish to spend their days watching the blue seas lap away at your toes and letting the sand massage your long walk away?
On the other side of the scale is the myth that if you’re not swathed in wealth or have filthy rich parents then you have to travel like a pauper, staying in dingy hostels and begging lifts between destinations.
Don’t buy into any of the above! You don’t need to be super rich or a vagrant.
You just need to know where the deals are, how to access them and a little thing called timing. We learnt when demand for flights and accommodation drops, and book our trips then. E.g. in January, most airlines drop their fees and flight dump to recoup the last years unused seats.
Also in USA, the 4th of July weekend, in some major cities like New York hotels are empty…So rates are bargain basement! You can easily stay at a 5-Star real estate that would normally cost $500+/night for $100 or less…
Its all down to your Personal Priorities. Is Travel and creating peak life experiences a priority for you?
The thing is there are people who do travel the world for almost free or for free in a manner of speaking. Below are some more examples:
#1. Someone with a really generous parent, grandie, boyfriend, spouse, sugar daddy/mommy or real kind benefactor…In other words someone is PAYING For their LIFE OF FUN & FREEDOM. That benefactor may not mind paying for your hiatuses across the globe to Punta Cana, St Martens, Paris, London, New York, Switzerland etc!
#2. Maybe you were born with a silver spoon – aka Have super wealthy parents who don’t mind you spending their moolah while they keep on working for it! For this person, travelling the world can be a whim away coz their generous parent may be funding their lifestyle, so to them it’s FREE.

Which one are you going to try out then? Tell us which idea from the video sounds like its right up your street?
Allow us to put it out there: No one can really travel the world for free unless you or someone else is footing the bill! So do not buy into the Hype!

I never thought you could travel for free, but guess it’s really possible!
Everything and anything is possible to she/he who believes and walks towards their belief Eileen 🙂
Digital Nomad sounds like a fun profession! I kinda disagree as nothing is really free. Even-though, it can be a lot of fun for someone who loves to travel, you still have to be able to capture the cool spots while you travel for free and also be able write well.
Hey Vidya,
Indeed Free is not 100% FREE, someone Somewhere is Paying 🙂
Who wouldn’t want to live a life of traveling for free? I sure would love that but currently, I am tied down with family responsibilities. That is what is limiting these wings to spread out and fly.
WELL WE ALL WOULD LOVE MORE FREEDOM, AND WE DECIDE WHAT THAT MEANS TO US EVERY SINGLE TIME. JUST AS YOU DECIDED YOUR CHILDREN CLIPPED YOUR WINGS, We decided, we wanted to show them the world at an early age…! 🙂
I love to travel and if I can find it for free or really cheap then I am loving it! Lots of handy info here I will be checking out. Thanks!
We plan on hitting the road this summer and seeing a few states we haven’t yet. Its great to travel and make memories with your kids.
Traveling is one of my favorite things in life. I’ve been blessed with many free trips but it is also great to read these tips to learn how to get deals when I need to pay for my own travel.
I suppose my biggest obstacle to travelling is kids. I don’t mean I can’t travel with them, but I would have to work around their school and activity schedule and it’s just a headache. Oh, and money is the second issue, but that’s where your advice comes in.
I love traveling and my husband and I prefer to do it in the low seasons. Better bargains? Yes. But more importantly– fewer people. If I’m trying to “get away from it all” I don’t want to go when everyone else is doing it too. Defeats the whole purpose.
Jennifer you got it in one 🙂 Less crowds, more fun for the savvy traveller! 🙂
You definitely had me at the title and yes there are lots of resources around to help keep down the cost of travel (maybe not free but definitely at lower cost.
Glad you dropped by and found a moment to have a cuppa Jan 🙂
I love travelling but now that we are retired the income is not as great so we need to be more selective. Thanks for some great tips on travelling for less and sharing with us at #BloggersPitStop. Have a great weekend.
Hey Sue,
Its so good to see you here. Indeed For many retirement means Tighter belts, yet as you say you can be more selective and still ravel some! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Julie
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could travel for free? There’s always got to be a way to finance your trip. Even if it means picking up a small job while there or selling things back home to make extra money.
Exactly Heather…
Yet you can still pick up FREE travel if yo know what to do and Commit to do it! 🙂
I love to travel. If I can travel for free, I love it even more. Unfortunately, I need to make time for my future travels.
You cannot make time Garf, no one can. You can Prioritise your time, to fit in travel though! 🙂
That would be so much fun. I might try to do this during the summer.
Go for it Cindy 🙂
Wow, I never knew you could travel for practically free! I need to try some of these tips out for my next vacation.
Yes Eileen, you gotta try them and keep us posted 🙂
Awesome suggestions and ideas. When I was a child my grandparents moved to Florida not because they had money but they sold property here and bought property there. My father worked my mother stayed home with the 4 of us. Yet we went to FL every year often 2 or 3 times. The traveling expenses dropped so low off season. Everything if different now so I read you.
Way, thanks for sharing a snippet of your life Gladys and we are glad you read us 🙂
[ Smiles ] Hmm, it never crossed my mind to book in January.
Thanks for the travel tip!
You are most welcome Renard 🙂
